The C16 starts on Canniesburn Road (A C road whose number has not yet been identified) in Bearsden, and heads south along Maxwell Avenue. Just before reaching Westerton Station, the road turns south east to run alongside the railway as far as the council boundary. The road then continues, as Westerton Road, to meet the A739.
