This article is about the Class III road numbered C172 maintained by DfI Roads.

For other roads numbered C172, see C172.
The C172 begins on the A27 just across the railway from Scarva, heading north east towards a bridge taking it across the line. Once across, the road turns to the north and a short spur crosses the Newry Canal from County Armagh to County Down, meeting the B3 north of Scarva. The road turns back round to the west and crosses the railway again, this time underneath. A TOTSO takes the road north where it ends on the A51 just outside Tandragee.
