The C17 starts at a roundabout in the centre of Arundel where the A27 goes east to west and the A284 comes from the north and runs in duplex with the A27 to the east before heading south again. There is also one other exit to the north which takes local traffic into Arundel which was the old route of the A27. The C17 heads south at this roundabout and quickly leaves the town, it runs pretty straight before getting to a level crossing next to Ford railway station, the road then goes through Ford before continuing south there it terminates at a roundabout with the A259
A27 Arundel Bypass
In 2019/2020 it is planned that works for the Arundel bypass will start to be constructed. In the plans released in 2017 it is suggested that this bypass will not have access to Ford Road (C17) and instead will have a bridge that goes over the C17. In the video it also shows that the bridge will be wide, allowing at least 4 lanes for Ford Lane to be expanded. I would assume this could be for future rerouting of the A29 that connects Bognor Regis (and surrounding towns) better connections towards the North as the current A29 cannot be dueled on its current route, but the A259 and C17 doesn't have many obstructions, then the A29 could take the route up the A284 where it would rejoin its current route.
