The C186 maintained by Cambridgeshire Council is a medium length road that links a series of villages to the north of Cambridge. It starts at Cottenham and then travels in a generally northwesterly direction through Rampton, Willingham, and Over, before heading south west to Swavesey and then to meet the A14 at Trinity Foot Junction (although the route will be curtailed slightly by the Huntingdon to Cambridge improvement works, and end instead at the Bucking Way Road Roundabout.
