The C18 is an class III road in Hertfordshire.
Once, it would have linked the A1 to the A507, providing access to the village of Weston. However, the road has been severed by the development of the Great Ashby housing estate so is not longer possible to drive in its entirety.
The first section, Rectory Lane travels through Stevenage, past larger houses to the old rectory. The road then TOTSOs and becomes single track with passing places, providing access to the cemetery. This section eventually becomes a dead end, although a link road does provide access back to Stevenage's new road system. A second isolated dead-end section exists within the estate.
The road then emerges at a junction of unclassified roads on the edge of the estate. From here, it continues to Weston and along to Clothall, before finally ending on the A507.
