The C1 starts at the Bathville Crossroads, where the B708 also terminates on the B8084 to the south of Armadale. The route then follows Upper Bathville, doglegging onto Northrigg Road which continues westwards to pass under the railway. Now following the council boundary, which is the southern boundary of the road, it continues to cross the B718 to the south of Blackridge, terminating a short distance further where the council boundary crosses the road.
