The C218 forms a lengthy c-shaped loop in the north of Dundee. It starts on the C202, MacAlpine Road and heads west along Rosemount Road before turning north along the edge of the golf course, following Dalmahoy Drive. It then doubles back to head east along Laird Street, crossing the C221, and continuing along Harestane Road to end on the C209, Old Glamis Road
