This article is about the Class III road numbered C227 maintained by DfI Roads.

For other roads numbered C227, see C227.
The C227 starts on the Armagh/Louth border as a continuation of the L3117 heading north west from the N53 in County Louth. The road meets the B30 in Crossmaglen and continues through the village, with a short link to the B135. The route proceeds south west and once again the C227 reaches the border after a short distance, this time with County Monaghan where it becomes the L3700 which eventually meets the R182 near Castleblayney. It is the only Armagh-based C road to start and finish on the border.
