Route outline (key)
C24K Newtonhill - Rothnick
This article is about the Class III road numbered C24K maintained by Aberdeenshire Council.
For other roads numbered C24, see C24
.

The C24K is effectively an L shaped road. It starts in the old village of Skateraw (now subsumed by Newtonhill), and heads west along Skateraw Road, doglegging along Old Mill Road onto Newtonhill Road. This leads to the junction with the A90 next to the Tesco store. Across the bridge, a new roundabout turns the C24K north, to rejoin its historic western route which skirts the northern fringe of the new village of Chapelton on Elsick. In the fullness of time, the route may be realigned along the new Greenlaw Road through the village. Further changes are ongoing a short distance further on near Cookney, where the construction of the Fastlink has seen a new junction constructed with the C25K. This has foreshortened the route, and leaves the connection with the C25K effectively as a tiny stub spur.

The section formerly referred to as a spur is, depsite a TOTSO now really the mainline as it turns north just before Cookney, to meet the C13K near Rothnick.
