The C252 is a lengthy route running on a NW - SE alignment in the north of the Ards Peninsula. The road starts off as Castle Street in the town centre of Bangor and leaves behind the B197 and A21 which both form part of the Bangor's one way inner loop. The road soon crosses the A2 Circular Road at a roundabout and continues its way to the edge of the town through the suburbs. A roundabout at Six Road Ends is met and is where the road crosses the A48. Continuing south east, the road straightens out somewhat as it approaches the B172 at a T junction next to the miniature railway at Drumawhey. The B172 TOTSOs twice here and at the eastern one the C252 continues south east, crossing the C254 before coming to an end on the C255 in the village of Carrowdore.
