The C269 is a bit of a varied route, ranging from the eastern suburbs of Belfast to the quiet countryside of north Down. The road starts on the A22 at Ballystockart and heads west. The road's westward journey is twice interrupted by crossing Ballyrussell Road and Gransha Road each via two separate junctions. Soon the road reaches a crossroads north of Castlereagh Hills Golf Club from which a spur turns off to the south west and passes over the shoulder of Braniel Hill to meet the A23 south of the edge of Belfast. Meanwhile the main route turns to the north and descends downhill into the city. Passing through Gilnahirk, the C269 follows the road of the same name across the Knock River where it ends on the C265 King's Road.
