Crew Road (which has the number C282) forms a fairly straight route through south-east Down. It starts on the A2 at Killough Bay and heads inland towards the B1, to which it gives way at a staggered crossroads. The road resumes from here and passes the eastern end of the C284, as well as giving way at another staggered crossroads with the C366. The road continues its journey north and past the C282 before eventually coming to a halt on the A25 at Castleward.
The road is wide enough for two narrow traffic lanes throughout, and is characterised as rural in nature with accesses to dwellings, farms, and fields along its route.
The road was constructed in 1740 by Michael Ward, of Castle Ward house, to link the Ward's harbour in Killough Bay with the house itself[1].
