|Route outline (key)|
The C29 is a long cross country single track road which crosses the hills to the north of Loch Awe, without ever really passing through anywhere of note. It starts on the A816 at Kilmelford, and climbs steeply up and down over the hills to reach Loch Avich, deep in the forestry that covers this area. The road follows the north shore of the loch, curving round to the foot of the loch, and then follows the river towards Loch Awe at Barnaline, about a mile north of Dalavich. Here the route TOTSOs to the north, and climbs again through the forest, before finally dropping towards the loch shore at Inverinan. Continuing north east, the road winds in and out of the trees, with glimpses of the loch to the right, before coming to an end on the B845 at Kilchrenan.
