The C29 is a long, meandering route, which heads north from Cupar. It starts on the A91 near the town centre, and follows East Burnside, Burnside North and Bank Street out of town, climbing over the flank of Myrecairnie Hill to reach a fork south of Rathillet. Here, a spur turns right to reach the village on the A92, while the mainline turns left, crosses the A92 and continues to meet the C46 on the steep hillside near Corbiehill.
