The C29 starts on the B7031 at Kirknewton, and heads east along Main Street through the village. At the end of the village, the road runs alongside the railway for a short distance, this section replacing an old level crossing, then turns away to reach a T junction. Here, it turns right onto Long Dalmahoy Road, which heads south east to Easter Newton Farm, then turns north east to reach the council boundary.
