This article is about the Class III road numbered C2E maintained by Moray Council. For other roads numbered C2, see C2.
The C2E starts at the A941 roundabout on the southern edge of Elgin and runs west initially to another roundabout. Here, it turns south along Glen Losie Road to Thomshill, winding past the distilleries and on to Birnie. From Elgin to the distilleries, the route is mostly an S2 road, of varying width, with a couple of pinch points. This is to accommodate the significant volume of lorries going to and from the distilleries. However, immediately beyond, the road narrows over a single track bridge, and whilst it does technically revert to S2, it is rarely possible to pass oncoming traffic at speed. At the Birnie Inn, the C2E TOTSOs left and runs east back to the A941. The route also includes a spur, running past the historic Birnie Church west to the B9010 at Cloddach near Miltonduff.
