This article is about the Class III road numbered C2 maintained by Orkney Islands Council.
For other roads numbered C2, see C2
The C2 is a lengthy route which crosses the hills in the south west of Orkney's Mainland. It starts on the A964 at Kirbister, and initally follows an old alignment of that route westwards, before turning sharply to the north. At first the road skirts the shores of the small Loch of Kirbister, before climbing up the valley beyond. There are a surprising number of properties along the roadside considering the moorland hills rising up beyond, but then the road is dropping again, running down to the A965 at Hobbister, a little to the north of Maes Howe and Stenness.
