|Route outline (key)|
The C31K starts on the B974 Cairn o'Mount Road and heads north, downhill through Cutties Wood to the Water of Feugh. The bridge spans the historic county boundary, and so the short section of road to meet the B976 probably isn't part of the C31K. However, the route resumes a short distance to the east, back in Kincardineshire, and follows the boundary north west to a summit below Glacks Hill, where it once more crosses the boundary. The road continues down to the B993 at Potarch Bridge, but this was always part of the C17M, which number now covers the whole route.
