Route outline (key)
C34 Saughtree - Deadwater
This article is about the Class III road numbered C34 maintained by Scottish Borders Council.
For other roads numbered C34, see C34
.

The C34 starts on the B6357 at Saughtree, a tiny settlement deep in the valleys near the border. It quickly crosses one small river and then follows the other north east as it works its way up stream, vurving round between the hills to face south east as it reaches the border near Deadwater. The road continues down to Kielder, and is thus often busy with tourists. In the past, it was also shadowed by a railway line serving this desolate and sparsely populated landscape, the two crossing a little to the north of the border.
