This article is about the Class III road numbered C38 maintained by Scottish Borders Council.
For other roads numbered C38, see C38.
For other roads numbered C38, see C38.
The C38 starts on the A68 at the north end of Jedburghs High Street, where it turns to meet the new relief road. The A68 formerly crossed the river on Bridge Street to follow the High Street through the town, but this is now an extension of the C38. At the roundabout with the B6358, the route turns right up Exchange Street, climbing steeply out of town on Lanton Road. After crossing the shoulder of Lanton Hill, the road drops down even more steeply into Lanton Village, keeping right through the village to reach the A698.
