The C3 starts on the A736, Keilburn Road in Barrhead, and heads south west along Neilston Road. It runs roughly parallel to the A736 as the two routes follow the valley, the C3 passing through Neilston and then coming to an end on the A736 once more just beyond Uplawmoor.
