For other roads numbered C403, see C403.
The C403 is a long L shaped route starting on the A35 at Letterkern and very soon crossing the C402. From here the road heads in a north east direction and is almost perfectly straight, although it is not particularly wide and is far from flat in a landscape dominated by tributaries of the Brannagh River. The road crosses two of these rivers before coming to a crossroads from which the C451 continues ahead and the C450 turns to the left, with the C403 itself continuing right. Now heading east, the road crosses the same two tributary rivers that were crossed before the junctions, crossing the latter one three times. The road enters a brief multiplex with the B72 at Glen Lodge before continuing east. After suddenly turning south east, the road crosses the C404 and TOTSOs over the Glendurragh River. The road ends on the B4 at Lack.
