The C41 is a long and meandering route which starts on the A68 to the south of Jedburgh town centre. Following Oxnam Road, the town is soon left behind as the route heads east then south east to Oxnam village. Just beyond the village, at Newbigging, the route turns sharply to the left at a T junction. Now following the Oxnam Water, the route meanders south east to Middlesknowes, where it turns east and crosses a low pass to reach the Kale Water. Heading north now, the route runs downstream through Hownam and keeps right at the fork to reach the B6401 east of Morebattle.
