The C43L starts on the A942 in the centre of Buckie, and heads east along the main shopping street, sitting on the hill above the main road through the docks. It then turns southwards along March Road to a roundabout. Reverting to an easterly course, the C43L heads for Rathven, and passes through the village to terminate on the A98.
