The C447 is Northern Ireland's most westerly class III route. Starting on the B52 in Garrison, the route follows the northern shores of Lough Melvin as far as Abhornaleha at the County Leitrim border. Even though its class III designation ends here, the road itself continues through a small portion of County Leitrim and into County Donegal towards Ballyshannon.
