The C458 starts on the A824 (former A9) in the middle of Auchterarder and heads north on Castleton Road. At Tullibardine, it swings left at the first T junction, and then TOTSOs right at the next. Continuing north west, it skirts the western side of the Strathallan Castle estate, and then drops down to cross the Machany Water, coming to an end soon after at another TOTSO, this time with the C457.
