C473 (Bath and NE Somerset)

The C473 starts on the A36 at Claverton and heads west, climbing steadily up Claverton Hill. After passing the entrance to the American Museum, it probably ends at the Bath city boundary on the edge of the University campus. It seems likely that in the past it connected directly with the C6, which is now a dead end at The Avenue to the west. The development of the University has seen many changes to the surrounding land, which has led to this slight anomaly in the road numbering.
