The C474 forms a loop through modern housing estates in Peasedown St John. It follows Orchard Way, a distributor road which meets the A367, bypass at either end, the southern junction being a roundabout at Wellow Lane. There is no direct vehicular access between Orchard Way and the older parts of the village, all traffic having to enter and leave via the bypass, although pedestrian and cycle links connect into the centre.
