The C480 curves around the bottom of Little Solsbury Hill above Batheaston. It starts at Swainswick, probably on Gloucester Road rather than the A46 itself, and heads south alongside the new dual carriageway, before curving around eastwards. It drops slowly into Batheaston on Solsbury Lane, ending on the C305 at the bottom of Brow Hill.
