For other roads numbered C48, see C48.
The C48B consists of two distinct groups of roads around Peterhead. The first is a collection of streets forming a rough loop around the town centre. It starts on the A982 at a roundabout and follows Blackhouse Terrace, then Ugie Road and Ugie Street east. After meeting one part of the C38B, it continues along Port Henry Road, before turning south down North Street and Seagate, and including the stub of Union Street. From here, two routes lead back west through the town centre. To the north, Broad Street, Marischal Street and Errol Street, formerly the A950, lead back to the roundabout junction of the A950 and A982, meeting the C38B twice more along the way. To the south, the C48B also includes the loop of Harbour Street, Bath Street and Charolotte Street.
The other section of the C48B lies to the south of the town centre, and comprises the former route of the A952 into the town. This now starts on the A982 and follows South Road past Peterhead Prison, to rejoin the A982 at its southern end on the A90.
