The C48 starts on the B6401, near it's junction with the B6352, in Town Yetholm. It heads east down Dow Brae to cross the Bowmont Water and then passes through pretty Kirk Yetholm. Turning northwards now, the C48 follows the valley downstream to the English Border at Shotton.
