|Route outline (key)|
The C48w is a lengthy route which parallels the A714 on the opposite side of the Water of Cree. The route starts on the B7079 in Minigaff and heads north along Millcroft Street. It then kinks across the bridge over the Penkiln Burn before leaving the town behind. After climbing a little across the hillside, the road drops down to the banks of the Cree, and doesn't stray too far as road and river meander northwards through the forest. After several miles, the road climbs to bypass a steep section of the valley, before returning to the river. It then turns away again, to cross the Minnoch Bridge over the Water of Minnoch a little way upstream, and a short distance later the route comes to an end on the C45w above Clachaneasy Bridge.
