Confusion
The Eastern End of the road has conflicts of route numbers with the B2114.
Brighton Road, being the one that runs adjacent to the A23 between J11 (Pease Pottage Interchange) and Handcross Junction does have conflicts of route numbers between the County Council (Road Signage and Index) and OS.
The Council says that while heading eastbound, after you cross the bridge and take a left to J11, that is all the C49. However OS shows that the section north and south of that roundabout is part of the B2114.
History
Eastern end between the Pease Pottage Services and the M23/A23 J11 was upgraded to a Dual Carriageway and a new roundabout in 2019.
