|Route outline (key)|
The C502 is the former line of the A9 north from Dunkeld. It starts at the top end of the town, where the A923 TOTSOs onto its historic route. The C502 climbs up through the woods above the Tay and then drops down again to meet the new road at Rotmell Farm. Whilst it is S2 throughout, the road twists and turns with the contours, and is not conducive to fast moving lorries, hence why the new road was built, bypassing Dunkeld as well.
