The C515 is a class III route within both County Londonderry and County Tyrone. Starting in County Tyrone, the road leaves the B49 north of the village of Dunnamanagh and crosses the Altinaghree Burn. Continuing north, the road begins to climb up onto the western flank of Slievekirk. The 291m summit of the pass here marks the county boundary. Continuing north into County Londonderry, the road TOTSOs left at a fork and keeps to fairly elevated ground until it reaches a north westward bend and begins to descend with the city of Derry visible in the distance. The road ends on the C508 near Beechhill House not far from the city itself.
