The C526 consists of a pair of short roads each providing a link between the B68 and the small village of Burnfoot on the B192 which merge together to cross the River Roe at New Bridge. The southern link starts at Boveagh and the northern link starts at Lower Gelvin, with the northern link receiving priority at the meeting point of the two to continue across the bridge to Burnfoot.
