For other roads numbered C52, see C52.
The C52 comprises a collection of roads on the northern banks of Lough Neagh totalling a length of over 20 kilometres. The main part of the route follows Staffordstown Road south west from the A6 in Randalstown. Before long, the crosses over the M22 as it continues to gradually turn round to the west. Just before reaching a crossroads near Staffordstown, the road abruptly turns north west and continues in this direction between the A6 and Lough Neagh until eventually ending on the B18 (former A6) in Toome. In addition to Staffordstown Road, the C52 also includes a spur from this road north eastwards along Derrygowan Road to meet the A6 just west of the terminus of the M22. Lastly, the route includes a detour loop comprised of Ballynamullan Road, Carlane Road and Gallagh Road to the south west, closer to Lough Neagh.
