This article is about the Class III road numbered C57 maintained by Angus Council.

For other roads numbered C57, see C57.
The C57 starts on the B9128 at Kingsmuir and heads south up Lownie Road, winding through the small settlement of Cherryfield at the top of the hill before dropping down through Lownie Moor to reach the C55. After a short multiplex to the east, the route continues south, dropping downhill initially, before reaching a double bend and then heading uphill along the eastern foot of the Hill of Lour to pass through the Lour Estate.
After passing Denside, the road enters a wooded section and heads westwards for a few hundred yards before turning left and emerging into the open countryside of the Muir of Lour. Continuing southwards for a mile, we eventually reach the B9127 at Whigstreet.
