The C599 starts on the B3355, High Street to the south of Paulton's village centre and heads east along Ham Lane, forking right onto Paulto' Hill. This continues as Paulton Lane to meet the C464, Skinners Hill, to the south of Camerton. The council list also includes Brittens Hill in Paulton, so it appears that there is a spur from the fork which curves northwards around the village.
