The C601 is a T shaped route in the far north of County Tyrone. It starts on the A5 to the south of Bready and heads east. Soon a T junction is reached with one segment of the road continuing ahead (south east) and the other turning off to the left (north east). To the left, the road links to the B48 at Cullion and ahead the road crosses one of the northern spurs of the C602 before it too meets the B48, at Mountcastle.
