The C647 consists of three separate routes crossing the countryside in between the B35, B45 and B128. One route is oriented in an east west fashion and two are oriented in a north south fashion. The east west route links the B35 at Castletown in the west to the B45 west of Oona Bridge, passing just north of Brantry Lough. The western of the two north south components starts in the north on the B35 and soon crosses Oona Water at Mullycar Bridge. This component crosses the east west component before terminating to the south on the B128. The other north south component starts on the western spur of the C646 at its northern end and soon crosses Oona Water at Todds Bridge. The east west component of the C647 is crossed via two separate junctions. The road passes Brantry Lough on its eastern shore and ends on the B128 to the south.
