This article is about the Class III road numbered C6 maintained by North Ayrshire Council.
For other roads numbered C6, see C6.
For other roads numbered C6, see C6.
The C6 formerly started on the A736 at Sourlie on the northern edge of Irvine. However, when that route was re-routed around the new housing estates, the old line was downgraded to be a U road, and it appears that the C6 was therefore left stranded. From Sourlie, it heads north, running loosely parallel to the A736 as far as the council boundary at Auchenharvie, the last few yards forming the boundary.
