The C6 leaves the A761 to the northeast of Kilbarchan and passes through Kilbarchan itself, crossing the C5 as it does so. The road then winds its way back out into open countryside as it runs almost parallel with the A737 before terminating on a class III road, whose number is not currently known, to the west of Howwood.
