C79 Link in Musselburgh
This article is about the Class III road numbered C79 maintained by East Lothian Council.
For other roads numbered C79, see C79
.

The C79 primarily just serves Musselburgh Station today, although it has a more interesting history. It starts on the B6415 in Musselburgh and heads south west along Stoney Bank Terrace onto Whitehill Farm Road. It might terminate at a roundabout just before the railway line, but it seems more likely that it crosses the track and finishes in the station forecourt. However, the route previously continued into Midlothian to meet the A6095 on the edge of Edinburgh. Indeed, there is still a road past the Queen Margaret University Campus to the new A1 route, although the next section has been removed as far as the council boundary. The gated road past the university does not appear to be part of the C79, although the cycleway to the A1 might be!
