For other roads numbered C7, see C7.
The C7 starts at a crossroads with the B8000 in Kames, near Tighnabruaich. It initially heads west (the southern road connects up later), and winds through the village down to the shore. Here, it turns south, following the coast of the Kyles of Bute down to Carry Point, where it climbs a little inland, before turning west to cross the bottom of the peninsula. The Council lists suggest that the C7 comes to an end near the Steading and Gateway to Ardlamont House, even though the road continues, turning north to pass through Kilbride and return to the B8000 at another crossroads, this one at Millhouse. The route is worth exploring leisurely, with some fantastic views first across the Kyles to Bute, and then south out to distant Arran.
