The C7 starts on the A701 at Broughton, just souyth of the bridge over the Biggar Water, and heads west, curving north at the junction with the C6 at Kilbucho Place. Curving round the north flank of Goseland Hill, the road climbs up a little to a T junction at Knowehead, where it turns sharp right and drops down to the council boundary a short distance from Biggar.
