|Location Map ( geo)|
|Distance:||5.1 miles (8.2 km)|
|Route outline (key)|
The C80a starts on the C79a, at Bailliehill, near the bridge over the Black Esk, and heads south. It climbs quite steeply at first, but soon levels out as it gently descends the long valley of the Water of Milk. The road is rarely on the riverbank, often rising and falling high on the hillside, but eventually reaches the C81a at Paddockhole, just short of its junction with the B7068.
