Route outline (key)
C85 Musselburgh - Whitecraig
This article is about the Class III road numbered C85 maintained by East Lothian Council.
For other roads numbered C85, see C85
.

The C85 is an odd route which has been broken and rerouted by the construction of the A1 dual carriageway. It starts on the B6415 on the southern edge of Musselburgh, and heads east along Fergurson Drive, a residential cul-de-sac. The old road survives as a cycle track (which oddly appears to retain the C85 number), passing under the railway and then over the River Esk on a new bridge. Sticking on the river bank, the cycle track passes under the A1 to meet Cowpits Road.

Cowpits Road is also part of the C85, although it is not entirely clear if the new section, running alongside the A1 to meet the A6124 is included. The older section continues south alongside the River Esk to a roundabout on the A6094 at Whitecraig.
