This article is about the Class III road numbered C89C maintained by Aberdeen Council. For other roads numbered C89, see C89.
The C89C starts on the A944 next to the Kingswells Park and Ride site and heads north, following the distributor road around the western side of Kingswells. Before this area was developed, the C89C followed a different route, along Fairley Road and Hunterstone Terrace to the east. A subsequent deviation followed part of Kingswood Drive, but other parts have been lost under the new houses. Just to the north of Kingswells, a new roundabout has been installed as part of the limited access North Kingswells Junction with the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route. It can be expected that this link will become a spur of the C89C, although by no means guaranteed!
The route now curves around to the east via Holmhead and Kepplestone, before it is cut by the AWPR works. A pre-existing road turns right to reach the A96 between Bucksburn and the airport, and again it seems plausible that this may become the C89C. However, for now, the old line continues north of the new road, as a long dead end heading south from the A96 near the airport and serving the golf course at Craibstone.
