|Route outline (key)|
The C8M is the northern half of the Loch Muick Road. It starts on the B976 at the bend at the east end of the bridge over the River Muick, and heads southwards, following the east bank of the river. After just over a mile, a side road turns west, crossing a bridge and heading back up the west side of the river to rejoin the B976. The C8M, meanwhile, continues southwards to the Linn of Muick. For some reason, the road beyond is unclassified, despite being of the same standard and, as a rule, carrying the same amount of traffic, to reach the large car park at Loch Muick and the Spittal of Glen Muick Visitor Centre.
